Former safiots and safiots today in Morocco or abroad, is to say all safiots World, will find themselves in Safi, the 25 to 29 May for 5 days from Wednesday to Sunday. A program to stay in Morocco for 8 days (Sunday to Sunday) including 5 in Safi is also provided for those who want to visit the neighboring cities for the first 3 days (El Jadida, Essaouira, Marrakech).
Meeting Objectives: have fun, meet, remember, present and exchange of old documents and especially rediscover his city and see places that were important in his life. Soly Azran launched Safi 2009 and fought to hold a major rally in Safi in 2009. The heaviness of the task and events beyond his control prevented him from achieving his dream and many safiots. We were all disappointed. This time a group of safiots starts again and to meet the challenge by taking all the lessons from the experience of being grateful Soly. This project has nothing to do with Safi2009 and is clearly and completely independent.
Project Initiation: The first meeting was held in Safi Sunday, June 13, 2010 and defined the outline of the proposed gathering. A professional organization of travel (Andre Verdou for not naming him, was present at the meeting: the following 3 options have been proposed for travel and residence in 2011:
• Travel and stay for a period of 8 days (3 first in Marrakech, Essaouira, El Jadida, Safi and 5 then) with support of course to the airport on arrival and departure (Sunday to Sunday)
• Travel and stay for a period of 5 days in Safi with support of course to the airport on arrival and departure (from Wednesday to Sunday). • Stay
Safi only for 5 days (the trip being made by the person himself, eg in Safi arrived by car)
A fourth option could be considered : For those staying with friends (but these must take their meals, trips and especially the Gala)
A small committee met again in Safi June 26 to prepare the project in its details and start the information in the media and send a mail to all safiots listed in many directories safiots. Then an officer will be co-opted by the committee in each country where there is a potential presence of safiots. Meetings will be organized by country thereafter to decentralize the organization, but the synthesis is always made and the final decision will always taken in Safi. An e-mail

• Exhibitions (books, journals, photographs, CPA, old postcards, crafts, industry, education, ...) conferences, meetings with people from Safi.
• Gala Evening, with orchestras and music variety.
• Great Raffle with prizes (paintings by safiots Safi and elsewhere, pottery master, weight boxes of sardines! ...) •
possibly added to the program : Meetings with officials or official bodies of the city.
Amenities planned: a communication room will be opened with multiple PCs with WiFi and a reception-secretary with hostesses to guide, inform and support participants. A small booklet will be given to each participant's home. It will contain information about the city, badges with meal tickets, shows and excursions and a full program of all activities with a list of all participants. A professional photographer will cover the ongoing meeting.
Other ideas being realized:
• An exhibition on sport Safi (photos, documents, newspapers): A Century of Sports (1912-2011)
• Draft meeting with youth safiote Lycée Al Idrissi with a historical exhibit on the college since its inception
• Establishment of the office of the ASM (World Association of Safiots)
• Another website: Find Safi.com will be the meeting point of the ASM
• It is requested all safiots interested in this meeting and / or who will attend to send or bring 5 pounds if possible to be offered at the school library Al Idrissi
