Invitation Commemoration Death Aniversary

history of secret codes by Simon Singh

Before leaving on vacation, Regis lent me one of his books: "History of secret codes" by Simon Singh.

As its title indicates, this book "decodes" for us the history of secret codes and their reasons to exist, be they political, diplomatic or military, from antiquity to the present. Cryptography, the science of secret codes, not the subject easiest to treat. However, from historical examples - the Greek envoys with messages hidden in their hair, arrest of Mary Stuart, entered the war the United States during the Second World War, etc. ... - And with an extraordinary extension of the art encryption and decryption, we are able to understand a computer program cryptography! Explaining all the steps in the History of Cryptography, Simon Singh arrives to take us to the heart of the most sophisticated systems of protection messages. Brilliant!

Do not think that this book is boring to read, it reads like a thriller! Those who love history, Science will also find their behalf. It is accessible to everyone, even those who do not understand the math! In short, you understand that I really liked this book, especially for the fact that it replaces each invention, discovery and progress in its historical context. It's exciting and informative!

For those who are even more excited at the time of the release of his book, the author had a contest with 10 puzzles of cryptography. Although 13 months after publication, they have been resolved, you can always perform as they are at the end of the book. For more information, go to the site author ! Have fun!
